"Tigers are Brave" was my second Private Music album. By this point in my adventure, the record company was leaving it's original "Art Music" direction in pursuit of New Age success. I was encouraged to be like Vangelis.
This is the hardest one of my projects to listen to now. "Thunder Bay" is good for the first minute or so and then becomes pretty boring. The rest of the CD is downhill from there.
Jerry Goodman of "Mahavishnu Orchestra" fame played incredible violin on some of the tracks. Chris Rhyne played keyboards, he's the best! Brandon Fields played the sax parts.
This project was recorded at EFX systems in Burbank. It was an audio for video post facility, but was the affordable choice for digital recording, as at that time there were very few studios working with Digital (tape that is...forget disk!). This is about 1986. I ended up working at EFX for almost 2 years as a sound editor. From then on I really moved into being a Sound Designer for TV and Film.
Can you imagine I ever really did my hair like that!
